Carter Sanderson and the Muskegon Lumberjacks play for the Clark Cup in the USHL playoffs starting Friday night, plus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton takes a 2-0 series lead over Springfield in the Atlantic Division Final in the AHL playoffs while the Wheeling Nailers look to force a Game 7 in the North Division Final in the ECHL playoffs.

Carter Sanderson remains active in the USHL playoffs while Bill Zonnon and Vasily Ponomarev lost in Game 7 of the QMJHL and KHL playoffs, respectively while the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins take a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 of the opening round of the AHL playoffs on Thursday and the Wheeling Nailers advanced to the second round of the ECHL playoffs thanks to historic goaltending from Taylor Gauthier.

Taylor Gauthier continued another dominant ECHL season, stopping 91 of 94 shots and recording a shutout for the Wheeling Nailers last week.

Taylor Gauthier backed the Wheeling Nailers to a 2-1-0 week with 91 saves on 94 shots, Ryan Miller recorded seven points in four games for the Portland Winterhawks, and Jordan Charron scored for the first time in nearly two months for the Soo Greyhounds, plus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins get points in two of three and the Wheeling Nailers go 2-1-0.

Following the trend of emphasizing winning and competitiveness throughout all levels of the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, the Wheeling Nailers, the ECHL affiliate of the team, impressed with a 43-25-3-1 record in 2024-25 season, finishing second in the North Division–one spot and eight points behind the eventual Kelly Cup Champion Trois-Rivieres Lions–and fifth in the Eastern Conference and reaching 40 wins for the first time since the 2005-06 season.

Despite disappointing end to the 2024-25 season, Tristan Broz, Harrison Brunicke, and Avery Hayes provide some silver linings. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins fall to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in two games, and the Wheeling Nailers win on to prevent the sweep, but bow out against the Norfolk Admirals in five games.
