Swanson Nets First NCAA Goal
Mac Swanson scored for the first time at the NCAA level on Friday night, giving North Dakota a 2-0 lead early in the first period of a 7-2 win over Boston University. Swanson recorded a secondary assist on the opening goal of the game and went without a point the next night in a 4-3 loss to the Terriers. The 2024 seventh round pick led the Fargo Force and finished third overall in the USHL with 77 points in 55 games last season.
Broz Records First Multipoint Game At The Professional Level
Tristan Broz recorded two points for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday night. Broz recorded a secondary assist on the opening goal of the game and scored a power play goal–the eventual game winner–with time expiring in the second period to give Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 3-1 lead. Broz now boasts three goals and four points through six games in a rookie campaign at the professional level.
Pietila Records Two Points For Huskies Over The Weekend
Chase Pietila factored in on the only two goals scored by Michigan Tech over the weekend. The 2024 fourth round pick recorded a primary assist to tie the game 1-1 on Friday night in a 4-1 loss to Clarkson and scored the lone Huskies goal the next night in a 2-1 overtime loss. Pietila leads Michigan Tech with four points in four games early in the 2024-25 season after finishing fourth on the team–and leading blueliners–last season with 22 points in 40 games.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Splits Weekend Series With Syracuse Crunch
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins dropped a 2-0 decision to Syracuse on Friday night despite edging the Crunch 22-19 in shots. Filip Larsson stopped 17 of 18 shots, and Emil Bemstrom and Rutger McGroarty led the team with four shots.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton rebounded the next night, beating Syracuse 3-2. Tristan Broz led the way with a goal and a helper. Samuel Poulin and Avery Hayes added goals, Bemstrom and Mac Hollowell recorded two assists, and Ville Koivunen added a helper. Tristan Jarry–with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for a conditioning assignment–started a game at the AHL level for the first time since the 2018-19 season and made 32 saves in the win.
Wheeling Nailers Split Weekend Series With Reading
The Wheeling Nailers beat the Reading Royals 5-4 on Saturday night. Mathieu De St. Phalle led the way with a goal and a helper, and Jack Beck recorded two assists. Chris Ortiz, Cole Cameron, Sam Houde, and Logan Pietila scored the other Wheeling goals, and Louie Roehl, Matt Koopman, Jordan Martel, and Atley Calvert added assists. Sergei Murashov made 16 saves in the win.
The Royals turned the tables the next night, handing the Nailers a 4-1 loss. De St. Phalle scored the lone Wheeling goal and Martel and Gabe Klassen recorded assists. Murashov made 18 saves on 21 shots in the loss.
