After a highly anticipated arrival to North America from Russia, Sergei Murashov, almost certainly lived up to expectations, starring for the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL and impressing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL. After dominating the top junior league in Russia last season, the 2022 fourth round pick finished with a 2.40 goals against average and .922 save percentage in 26 ECHL appearances along with a 2.64 goals against average and .913 save percentage in 16 AHL appearances, going 12-3-0, including a 10-game winning streak. Only 21 years old, Murashov almost certainly earned a permanent spot in the AHL to continue developing into a potential NHL starter in a few years.
