Zam Plante’s 6-Point Weekend Helps Minnesota-Duluth Get Two Wins Over Bemidji

Zam Plante recorded six points in two wins for Minnesota-Duluth in a home-and-home series against Bemidji State. Plante scored twice and added two assists in a 7-3 win on Friday night and added another goal and a helper in a 5-1 win on Saturday. Centering a productive top line flanked by younger brother Max Plante, the 2022 fifth round pick now ranks third on the team with 10 points in six game. Zam recorded 20 points in 33 games as a freshman in the NCAA last season.

Sam Poulin Stays Steady In Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

Sam Poulin extended a point streak to four games and scored for the first time in the 2025-26 season on Saturday, tying the game 3-3 in a 6-3 come-from-behind win over Bridgeport on Saturday. The 2019 first round pick picked up a primary assist on the second Wilkes-Barre/Scranton goal after notching a primary assist in a 5-2 win over Hartford the previous night. Poulin ranks second on the team with five points in four games. Poulin hopes to parlay consistency at the AHL level to a chance at the NHL level.

Kale Dach Finding A Groove In Calgary

Kale Dach continued a strong start with Calgary in the WHL, recording three points in three games last week. The 2025 seventh round pick scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Portland on Monday and added two primary assists in a 7-6 loss to Lethbridge on Friday. Dach ranks third on the Hitmen with eight points in 9 games and finished second in the BCHL last season with 87 points in 54 games.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Stays Undefeated With Pair Of Wins, Including Third-Period Comeback Win On Sunday

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins beat the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-2 on Friday night. Atley Calvert scored twice, and Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Avery Hayes, and Tristan Broz added goals. Ryan Graves and Danton Heinen recorded two assists each. Chase Pietila, Sam Poulin, and Aidan McDonough added helpers. Sergei Murashov made 28 saves in the win.

Despite falling behind 3-0 in the first period against Bridgeport on Saturday, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton battled back for a 6-3 win. Graves scored late in the second period, and Harvey-Pinard, Poulin, Ville Koivunen, Heinen, and Calvert added goals in the third. Heinen added two helpers for three points, and Poulin, Koivunen, and Harvey-Pinard tacked on assists to finish with two points. Valtteri Puustinen and Owen Pickering recorded a pair of helpers, and Sebastian Aho and McDonough finished with assists. Murashov made 29 saves, including 21 of 21 in the second and third periods.

Wheeling Nailers Win Season Opener Over Cincinnati

The Wheeling Nailers opened the 2025-26 season with a 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones. Daniel Laatsch, the only player under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on the Nailers roster, recorded a pair of helpers and led the team with a +5 plus/minus rating.
