Joel Blomqvist Rebounds With 26-Save Performance For Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
After a rare underwhelming performance last week, Joel Blomqvist bounced back with 26 saves in a 4-1 win over Hartford on Saturday night–including nine saves in the third period to hold off a late push by the Wolfpack.
Despite dealing with injury and a lighter workload with the emergence of Sergei Murashov, Blomqvist currently ranks third in the entire AHL among qualified goaltenders with a .928 save percentage and a 2.04 goals against average. Deplpying mostly a Murashov and Blomqvist tandem, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins currently rank fifth in the AHL with 99 goals against in 39 games.
