Atley Calvert continued to quietly climb the top scorers list for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and currently ranks second on the team with 24 points in 42 games, after recording three points in four games last week and 10 points in 13 games since Christmas. The undrafted forward recorded two secondary assists in a 3-2 win over Springfield on Monday and scored in a 3-2 overtime loss to Belleville on Wednesday.

Calvert recorded 14 points in 26 AHL games as a rookie last season after a dominant first half of the year with the Wheeling Nailers, recording 36 points in 38 games and being named to the ECHL All-Star Game. Calvert scored 105 goals in 237 WHL games, including 87 in 135 games over two seasons before joining the Penguins organization. Look for Calvert to be in consideration for an NHL contract by the end of the season.
