Mikhail Ilyin, a crafty winger with a good compete level taken in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL entry draft, saw a small uptick in production with the Severstal Cherepovets in the KHL last season, recording 30 points in 64 games after posting 29 points in 63 games as a rookie in 2023-24. Only 20 years old, expect Ilyin to be take on a bigger role with Severstal in 2025-26 and continuing developing a strong two-way game before potentially making the jump to North America the following year.
